Welcome Home...

Welcome Home . . .That's what Jerry Nicholson, the developer of Long Mountain, thought when within one week after the closing, he bought and moved into the existing cabin located in the center of this gorgeous mountain property. He began his “Vision Quest” by exploring, walking and dreaming. After many hours of soul searching and with God’s guidance, the first phase of the development was realized . . . It would be called The Trails at Long Mountain and would consist of 50 lots ranging from 1 to 4+ acres.

A road was carved within the existing terrain and plans for the Hiking Trails and the Common Area became part of the dream. When building the road system, many enormous, native boulders had to be relocated. The boulders were selectively placed along the perimeter of the subdivision to designate the boundaries of the Hiking Trails. They were also placed within the Park, Picnic, and Campfire Ring area. Two man-made lakes were constructed at the entrance to the property. Unsure about how to design the entrance, the decision was made and the Circle N Ranch was born. Paint horses were added to a tree-lined pasture encircled by a rustic, dark wood fence. This gave the subdivision entrance the feeling of an equestrian farm property. Also unique to the subdivision is the large rock sign with native boulders carefully placed around it to mark the entrance at Highway 115 and Jeb Drive.

All the lots are loaded with hardwoods and mountain laurel. A lot of thought and careful planning was put into how the developer and the builders were going to work together to achieve placing homes within the existing terrain without disturbing the habitat. To ensure this happened, Jerry, along with Ron and Reggie Bell of Bell Construction, formed Long Mountain Development Partners. This partnership would be the foundation for the creation of the first original home plans for the subdivision. Soon they realized that in order for the homes to fit into the existing habitat, they would need to limit the building site grading and tree removal. The gigantic, native boulders that dot the lots would be used in the landscape to help the homes to blend in. Further decisions were made to build rustic, Craftsman-style homes utilizing natural materials such as rock, cedar, shakes, architectural shingles and brick, as well as using paint colors that accented the natural colors of the forest surrounding the property.

These custom homes are built with quality in mind. Some custom features include double decks and covered porches, security systems, full daylight basements, beveled glass front doors, total electric wiring, county water, and high speed internet and cable. Kitchens have Whirlpool appliances, smooth top stoves, deep stainless sinks and ceramic floors. Large master bedrooms include trey ceilings, ceramic showers, Delta fixtures, whirlpool tubs and huge walk-in closets. Separate dining rooms offer double trey ceilings. Stone fireplaces in the great rooms are also available, along with Oak hardwood flooring in great rooms and hall entrances. So, bring your own plans and builder or use ours. Your home should reflect you and your new lifestyle at The Trails at Long Mountain.

Here is a new community with the “feel” of a community. Here is a development where the emphasis is on “Lifestyle.” Here is a subdivision where you can build your “Dream Home,” and enjoy your neighbors, yet still have plenty of privacy. Here is a place that has two lakes; a common area featuring a campfire ring, bar-b-que grills, picnic areas and over a mile of hiking trails. Plans are in the works for a pavilion within the common area.

Where else can you embrace all the features of mountain living and still have the convenience of the city?

Located just 3 miles from Cleveland, Georgia and 15-minutes from the end of Georgia 400, this most unique property beckons you to become a part of it.
