The Vision... The vision of Long Mountain began 7 years ago when Jerry Nicholson was in search of a large tract of land. As fate would have it, he met Larry Adams, who owned the Long Mountain property with The Adams Brothers, the 88th largest landowner in the world, as of 2008. When Jerry found this tract, the dream began. Although it took over a year to acquire the property, Larry and Jerry became fast friends even during a multi-million dollar negotiation. Ultimately, several properties were traded into Adams Brothers, as well as, the last 333 acres out of a 1000-acre tract located in Hancock County, Georgia. Herein is where Jerry Nicholson and Nicholson Investment Corp. began the division and development of the vision of what is now known as Long Mountain, The Trails, The Lakes and The Falls. The entrance to Long Mountain has a feeling of equestrian farm property, as the Circle N Ranch adjoins the property entrance. Several Paint horses graze contently in the tree-lined pasture as you approach the entrance. Rustic, dark wood fencing completely surrounds the Circle N Ranch and adds more of the feeling of farm land and the serenity and laid-back atmosphere we commonly associate with it. When you visit Long Mountain, you will immediately notice that the developer’s love for the outdoors was brought into the community. You won’t find all the trees removed or the wildlife displaced. Instead, the wildlife habitat has been virtually undisturbed. Wild turkey and White Tail deer abound within the surrounding forest. Long Mountain is unique in that the community has been built around the existing terrain. All the property boasts of huge Oak trees, ferns, Mountain Laurel, wild azaleas and Dogwood trees. One outstanding feature of Long Mountain is we offer “FREE Natural Amenities!” These are things that most people take for granted . . .breathtaking sunsets, vibrant Fall colors, a soft blanket of snow covering a hushed forest, running horses, fragrant mountain laurel bursting with blooms, a spotted fawn nestled among the ferns with its mother nearby, the beauty of a hawk in flight, clean air and cooler temperatures, just to name a few. All these amenities are offered at no charge and will surprise and delight us if we just take the “TIME” to stop, look and listen. The main emphasis is on “Lifestyle.” We believe our customers will agree that living at Long Mountain is a lifestyle. Their lives changed when they moved here. It is a different world than living in the hustle and bustle of the city. It is Mountain property and we’ve managed to place our lives and our homes into the middle of a mountain. It is quiet…tranquil…serene…. and most of all, beautiful. In these tough economic times and with all the uncertainty, “What is the ‘value’ or what ‘price’ can be put on Peace and Quiet . . . Tranquility . . . Serenity . . . and the Beauty of living in the North Georgia Mountains?” Nicholson Investment Corp. has truly developed White County’s most unique property. Currently FOR SALE is Phase 1, which is known as The Trails at Long Mountain. The Trails has over a mile of hiking trails, mountain views, lake lots, plus common areas, which include campfire rings and bar-b-que grills and picnic areas. Also available FOR SALE beginning in 2009 is Phase 2: The Lakes at Long Mountain. It will boast of Cleveland’s highest land elevations (2,150 feet), plus White County’s highest known elevation lake (1,850 feet). The Lakes will also have hiking trails, lake lots, fishing, common areas and tremendous, panoramic mountain views. The Falls at Long Mountain will be Phase 3 and is set to open in 2010/2011. This gated-community has a 40-foot waterfall, a series of smaller falls and 3 acres or above Estate-sized lots. Although still in the planning stages, future plans are to include a clubhouse, swimming pool and Jacuzzi, as well as a beach and picnic area.. With the theme, Convenience of the City, Tranquility of the Mountains, and located just 3 miles from the square in Cleveland, Georgia; and only 15 minutes from the end of Georgia 400, Long Mountain truly offers the best of both worlds.
